A new PSA shooting in Los Angeles is looking for performers with previous experience portraying a mascot. The new campaign, called “Save the Mascots,” is a partnership between DoSomething.org and CVS Health to ban tobacco from college campuses.
The PSA is a humorous take on saving mascots from dangerous situations. The mascot will be rescued from scenarios that are often a combination of dangerous and ridiculous. For example, the mascot starts choking on chicken bones while dining only to be saved by a timely delivered Heimlich maneuver. Another example: the mascot tries to adjust a light bulb and falls from a ladder into convenient cradling arms that appear just in the nick of time.
The team is searching for talent, aged 18–33, of any ethnicity who has previous experience as a mascot. The shoot will require physical work and interaction with other performers, improvisational skills, and a high degree of animated energy.
The shoot takes place in Los Angeles on March 23. Talent should be local to the area. Compensation for the day is $400.
