ABC’s “General Hospital” dominated last night’s Daytime Emmy Awards winning its 12th Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series.

“General Hospital” bested CBS’ “The Bold and the Beautiful,” NBC’s “Days of Our Lives,” and CBS’ “The Young and the Restless.”

“General Hospital” actor Tyler Christopher earned his first Emmy for his performance as Nikolas Cassadine in the lead actor category. Meanwhile Christopher’s co-star Sean Blakemore also picked up his first Emmy in the supporting actor category for his role as Shawn Butler.

Mary Beth Evans won two awards for acting last night. Evans nabbed her first Emmy in the lead actress category for her portrayal of Kayla Brady on “Days of Our Lives.” Evans also won for the digital daytime drama “The Bay: The Series.”

“The Bay: The Series” swept the digital daytime drama series categories winning both for Evans in the actress category, and Kristos Andrews in the actor category. Evans and Andrews are the first winners in the newly created slots for digital daytime dramas.

Evans and Andrews also won as part of the producing team for “The Bay: The Series,” which secured the Emmy for Outstanding Digital Daytime Drama Series following its victory last year for Outstanding New Approaches - Drama Series.

Jessica Collins represented “The Young and the Restless” as the show’s sole acting win in supporting actress for her role as Avery Bailey Clark. Collins won on her second nomination.

Additionally, True O’Brien (“Days of Our Lives”) and Bryan Craig (“General Hospital”) won their first Emmys in the younger actor categories, while Obba Babatundé earned kudos in the Guest Performer category for his role as Julius Avant on “The Bold and the Beautiful.”

The 43rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards were presented Sunday at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel and Suites in Los Angeles.
