Get Cast in HBO’s ‘Sharp Objects’ With Amy Adams + 5 More Gigs

This week’s casting roundup offers chances to work alongside major stars including Amy Adams and Michael Shannon. Projects starring those heavy-hitters and more are casting background talent, plus other paying gigs across the country you shouldn’t miss!

“SHARP OBJECTS”
Male actors ages 7–9 who are “real southerners with unique faces” are needed for background in HBO’s forthcoming “Sharp Objects,” starring Amy Adams. Based on the bestselling novel by Gillian Flynn, the series is shooting in May in Atlanta, Georgia. Some pay will be provided.

“BROOKLYNITES”
Talent is needed for a day player and two supporting roles in “Brooklynites,” a scripted series “ about five human beings from diverse backgrounds living in Brooklyn, New York.” Seeking three female actors ranging in age from 18–45, the project will shoot June 16–18 in New York City. Pay will be $25/day, with meals and transportation also provided.

“WE RUN THIS”
Casting is underway for day players and background in “We Run This,” a cop drama web series shooting this month in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. Seeking talent for roles including drug addicts and dealers and dance club patrons, the project will provide pay, meals, copy, and credit.

“WACO”
Scripted series “Waco,” starring Michael Shannon, Taylor Kitsch, and John Leguizamo, is casting background. The team seeks actors ages 18–65 to fill numerous roles throughout production, and will be shooting through June 29 in Santa Fe and Northern New Mexico. Some pay will be provided.

“HI, FRIEND!”
A male actor aged 18–25 with a “muscular, jock look,” is needed for a supporting role in “Hi, Friend!” The series, depicting “what happens when two completely different freshmen move into a dorm for their college years,” is shooting June–August in Nashville, Tennessee. The hired actor will be paid $353/day.

“QUEEN SUGAR”
OWN series “Queen Sugar,” from executive producers Ava DuVernay and Oprah Winfrey, is casting three–four jazz musicians for background roles. Seeking talent ages 18 and up, the team prefers a band that plays together over solo musicians. Shooting is slated for April 28 or May 1 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Each performer will be paid a rate of $250/12 hours.
