“THE DEUCE”
“The Deuce,” HBO’s latest venture with David Simon (creator of “The Wire” and “Treme”), is holding auditions for background actors April 21 in New York City. The project, which stars James Franco and Maggie Gyllenhaal and examines life in New York during the 1970s and ‘80s when porn and prostitution ran wild, is seeking men and women of all ethnicities and ages to play 1971 New York-types—pedestrians, business people, tourists, prostitutes, drug dealers, and more. Filming begins in June 2016. Professional pay will be provided.
ACROSS THE BOARD (ATB) TALENT AGENCY
This agency is seeking fresh New York City-based talent to expand its clientele in its stage, on-camera, and youth divisions. Auditions with theater department head Todd M. Eskin and ATB president Guy Kochlani are being held for Equity and non-Equity musical theater performers on May 2 and May 3 in New York City.
UNTITLED ACTION-ADVENTURE FEATURE
This thrilling, New York City-based adventure film is now casting background actors for its June 2016 on location shoot. The film is set in the year 1963. Revolution Agency’s Kathy Jane, Mark Sakes, and G. Lalov are coordinating.
AMERICAN REPERTORY THEATER
Auditions are being held in New York City on April 22 for this award-winning Cambridge, Massachusetts-based theater company. Roles are being cast for its entire 2016–2017 season, including “Fingersmith” from director Bill Rauch (runs Dec. 14–Jan. 8, 2017), “Trans Scripts” from director Jo Bonney (runs Jan. 19–Feb. 5, 2017), and “Arrabal” from director Sergio Trujillo (runs May 18–June 11, 2017). Equity jobs with A.R.T. pay $861 per week.
