Summer may be several months away, but we’re already getting in notices for auditions and submissions to summer projects across film, TV, and theater—and did somebody say cruise?! Saint Michael’s Playhouse, for instance, is casting for a handful of its summer productions. Check that out and more below.
SAINT MICHAEL’S PLAYHOUSE 2016 SEASON
This resident stock theater based in Colchester, Vermont, is holding auditions in New York City, Feb. 16–18 for its summer 2016 season. Looking to hire Equity actors for “as many consecutive productions as possible,” Saint Michael’s has a great lineup for this year, including Broadway smash “Sister Act”!
“SWEENEY TODD”
Most famously brought to life by Johnny Depp in director Tim Burton’s Oscar-winning film adaptation, the demon barber of Fleet Street and his cohorts are hitting North Carolina. PlayMaker’s Repertory Theatre in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, is holding auditions for all major roles Feb. 1 and Feb. 2 in New York City, for its April 2016 run of Stephen Sondheim’s classic.
“BAYWATCH”
Get some beach time with Zac Efron as an extra in director Seth Gordon’s anticipated film adaptation of “Baywatch.” Auditions are being held in Savannah, Georgia, (where the movie’s being filmed this March) tomorrow, Jan. 30.
“AFTER MIDNIGHT”
Ahoy, sailor! Norwegian Cruise Lines is jazzing things up with a high sea production of “After Midnight,” featuring the hits of Duke Ellington. In search of a host and additional ensemble members, the cruise line is seeking submissions from New York City. This job pays $900 per week plus accommodations!
