Greenlit means a project is officially a go, so all you have to do is follow these leads to stay up to date. You never know where you’ll find an opportunity to land an audition!

“A Christmas Story: Live”
The Fox musical event is gearing up for the holidays. In addition to Maya Rudolph and Matthew Broderick, the broadcast has found its little Ralphie in Andy Walken. The 11-year-old won out over 350 hopeful actors. There are no other names attached to the project, directed by Alex Rudzinski, who also co-directed “Grease Live!” and executive produced “Hairspray Live!” The musical will air Sunday, Dec. 17, so more roles should be cast soon, likely by Telsey + Co, who Rudzinski has worked with on the other live, televised musicals on his resume.

“Champions”
As “The Mindy Project” wraps up production, Mindy Kaling isn’t slowing down. Her next project, “Champions,” which she hinted at working on via Instagram last week, is gaining momentum. Although some cast members have been attached, including Anders Holm, Andy Favreau, Mouzam Makkar, Fortune Feimster, and others, the process seems to be in the early stages. Collin Daniel and Brett Greenstein are casting, so now’s your chance to try to get in the room!

“The Goldfinch”
On the heels of the news that Ansel Elgort was offered the lead role in the film adaptation of “The Goldfinch,” his character Theo’s best friend has also been added to the cast list. “Dunkirk” breakout Aneurin Barnard will play the role of Boris in the upcoming film based on the bestselling novel. Ellen Chenoweth is casting so it’s your turn to try and nab a role in the film. No other casting announcements have been made.

“Tolkien”
The early years biopic about the Middle-Earth author is in the beginning stages of production. Lily Collins, Nicholas Hoult, and Colm Meaney have been added to the film, which is being cast by Kate Ringsell. “The Lord of the Rings” and “The Hobbit” movies might be projects of the past, but this is your opportunity to join the Tolkien world in a new way.

Untitled I. Marlene King + Paul Wesley Project
The “Pretty Little Liars” creator and “The Vampire Diaries” star are teaming up for a new series on Freeform called “Tapped.” The drama is based on the novel by Andrew Shaffer about students who create a dating app that goes viral and makes them instantly rich, but also introduces new risks and dangers. King has previously worked with CD Gayle Pillsbury on “Pretty Little Liars,” as well as her other series, the “Liars” spinoff “Ravenswood,” and more recent “Famous in Love.” No names have been attached to “Tapped” as of yet, so now’s the perfect time to get your foot in the Freeform door.

Untitled Dick Cheney Film
Adam McKay is back in the director’s chair for another film based on true events. This time, he’s tackling a story about Dick Cheney, and the project already has an all-star cast. Amy Adams, Christian Bale, Alison Pill, Steve Carell, Bill Pullman, Tyler Perry, and more are signed on for the feature. Tyler Perry is the most recent addition, (as former Secretary of State Colin Powell) and there’s no word yet on how many more actors are needed to round out the cast, but Francine Maisler is handling the search.

“Second Act”
Leah Remini and Jennifer Lopez are teaming up for a rom com. Lopez will play a Big Box store employee who goes through a lifestyle facelift to establish her titular second act. Remini, Lopez’s real life friend, will play her movie best friend. Roger Mussenden is handling casting. No other names have been announced for the project.

“Anna”
Luc Besson is getting ready for his next feature, an action movie that will start filming in November. “Anna” will star Helen Mirren, Luke Evans, Cillian Murphy, and Sasha Luss in the titular role. The director often works with CD Nathalie Cheron on his recent big budget films, but no staffing or additional casting announcements have been made.
