Greenlit means a project is officially a go, so all you have to do is follow these leads to stay up to date. You never know where you’ll find an opportunity to land an audition!

“Ben is Back”
Julia Roberts and “Manchester by the Sea” breakout star Lucas Hedges will star together in a drama directed and written by Hedges’ father Peter Hedges. Peter Hedges’ recent work includes “Dan in Real Life,” and “The Odd Life of Timothy Green,” and other past works include, “Pieces of April,” “About a Boy,” and “What’s Eating Gilbert Grape.” The story follows Lucas Hedges as a troubled son who returns to his family for Christmas when his mother learns he is in harm’s way and must aid in the family’s survival. No other talent is attached, and no casting director has been announced, but Hedges has consistently worked with Telsey + Co on past films. Production begins in New York in December for a 2018 release so keep an eye out for potential supporting and background roles.

“Whiskey Cavalier”
“Scandal” might be wrapping up, but Scott Foley won’t be saying goodbye to government operatives just yet. ABC landed a series in development starring Foley as an FBI agent with the titular codename Whiskey Cavalier. He’s the only name attached to star so far, with Dave Hemingson writing and Bill Lawrence executive producing. No casting information has been released, but Lawrence has worked on series in the past with CDs Debby Romano and Brett Benner (“Cougar Town” and “Scrubs”) and with Jennifer Cooper (“Life Sentence” and “Rush Hour”) so listen up for more casting news as pilot season approaches.

“Signal Hill”
Jamie Foxx has joined “Ray” director Taylor Hackford once again for “Signal Hill” as Black Panthers leader Geronimo Pratt. Anthony Mackie and Elizabeth Banks are also attached. The timely story based on true events will take viewers back to a 1981 police brutality case where Pratt was defended by a young Johnny Cochran (Mackie). No casting director has been announced, but Nancy Klopper is a long time Hackford collaborator and was the CD on “Ray,” which earned Foxx an Oscar.

Last week, Ryan Murphy’s new FX project “Pose” made news by casting the most trans actors as regulars in a scripted series. In addition to those actors, “MJ Rodriguez, Indya Moore, Dominique Jackson, Hailie Sahar, and Angelica Ross, more names were announced, including Ryan Jamaal Swain, Billy Porter, Dyllon Burnside, Kate Mara, Evan Peters, Tatiana Maslany, and James Van Der Beek. No casting director has been announced, but additional casting is likely to continue to take place, as the show aims to begin filming in NYC in November. Murphy often works with CDs Eric Dawson, Carol Kritzer, and Robert J. Ulrich on his other FX projects.
