Greenlit means a project is officially a go, so all you have to do is follow these leads to stay up to date. You never know where you’ll find an opportunity to land an audition!

“Magic Mike” Musical
“Magic Mike” is ready to bare all! After reporting rumors a few months back that a musical adaptation of the hit film franchise was getting a push by producers, the show will premiere in Boston this fall with plans for a Broadway run. The “Next to Normal” team of Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey have developed the score, and Trip Cullman will direct the production, which will begin performances on Nov. 30 at the Emerson Colonial Theatre. Loosely based on the film version’s star and producer Channing Tatum’s real-life experiences, the musical, like the films, will follow a male stripper, but the story will be a prequel to the two films. “Once on This Island” and “Choir Boy” choreographer Camille Brown will be putting together the moves on the stage. After the Boston run, the show is planning to bow on Broadway, though no official timeline has been set for its New York premiere.

“Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough”
The previously-confirmed Michael Jackson bio-musical is officially a reality. Newly-titled “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough,” a pre-Broadway production is now set to premiere in Chicago on Oct. 29. After that short run, the show is expected to arrive on Broadway in 2020. The new musical will feature a book by Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage with Christopher Wheeldon directing and choreographing. Casting has yet to be announced, but with an intended Broadway run, look first to Wheeldon’s last Broadway casting team from when he did “An American in Paris”: Telsey + Company.

“Mystic Pizza” Musical
The winning recipe of “Mystic Pizza” is soon coming to the stage. Rocker Melissa Etheridge is reportedly writing a stage adaptation of the 1988 MGM rom-com starring Julia Roberts. Gordon Greenberg, who is co-writing the book with Sas Goldberg, will direct the stage production, and though no specific plans for a premiere or creative have been announced, keep your eye on future news including attaching one of the Broadway CDs to add talent.

“Bobbie Sue”
Warner Bros.’ “Bobbie Sue” has been in development for a decade with no indication if it would ever get off the ground, but it’s looking like the picture may have some life soon. “Jane the Virgin” star Gina Rodriguez has been cast to star in the flick with “Uncle Drew” filmmaker Charles Stone III at the helm. The story will reportedly follow the titular Bobbie, a scrappy young lawyer who lands a career-making case only to realize she’s been hired for optics and not her expertise. After discovering her powerful client is covering up worker exploitation within her company, Bobbie takes on a case against both her client and her law firm. There’s no word yet on when filming will begin, but Stone III regularly uses Victoria Thomas as his CD, so expect more of the same for some potential casting opportunities.

“The Stranger”
Announced today, Richard Armitage will take his next big role as the lead in the  Netflix crime drama “The Stranger.” The eight-episode series, based on the Harlan Coben novel, will reunite Netflix’s team from last year’s “Safe.” Armitage will star as Adam Price, whose perfect life is destroyed by a secret that sends him “on a collision course with a deadly conspiracy.” Production on the project is scheduled to begin in March. While further casting has yet to be announced, the casting team on “Safe” was Priscilla John and Orla Maxwell, so they could also join this new project.
