Greenlit means a project is officially a go, so all you have to do is follow these leads to stay up to date. You never know where you’ll find an opportunity to land an audition!

“Resident Evil”
“Resident Evil” is getting a second chance on the big screen. The hit video game series will head back to cinemas with a reboot directed by “47 Meters Down” director Johannes Roberts. First announced in May 2017, the reboot of the series will return to the franchise that followed Alice, originally played by Milla Jovovich, as she fights not only the zombies terrorizing Raccoon City after an experiment gone wrong but the evil Umbrella Corp. The film is expected to begin production next year with a new cast. Suzanne Smith was the regular casting director for the original franchise, but if the reboot is looking at a new cast, they may also go with a new casting director. This may give Roberts the opportunity to bring his “Meters” CD Colin Jones onboard.

“The Dolls”
HBO has a new dynamic duo, it seems. Laura Dern and Issa Rae are teaming up for a limited series currently in development at the network called “The Dolls.” The series is inspired by true events and recounts the Christmas Eve riots in two small Arkansas towns in 1983 which erupted over Cabbage Patch Dolls. The series, according to Variety, will explore “class, race, privilege, and what it takes to be a ‘good mother.’ ” Rae will also be writing the series alongside Laura Kittrell and Amy Aniobi. Both Rae and Dern are already starring in the HBO shows “Insecure” and “Big Little Lies,” respectively. No casting director has been officially assigned to the project yet, so keep your eyes on production news as the series goes through development.

“Nevelot”
Apple is adding another television series to its ever-expanding slate. Richard Gere will reportedly star in an American adaptation of the Israeli drama series “Nevelot.” The project hasn’t been officially greenlit yet, but the order is expected to be just on the horizon. The story will follow two Vietnam vets and best friends who find their lives upended when a woman they both loved 50 years ago is killed in a car accident, resurfacing a past of lifelong regrets and secrets. The series will be written by Howard Gordon, who will run the show alongside Warren Leight. No further casting or creative news has been announced.

“You Me Everything”
First reported by Deadline, Sophie Brooks will direct the upcoming film adaptation of the bestselling Catherine Isaac novel “You Me Everything” for Lionsgate. With a script by Robert Nelson Jacobs, “You Me Everything” will follow Jess and her 10-year-old son William as they set off to spend the summer in the French countryside, reuniting with Jess’s ex-boyfriend and William’s father, Adam. This will be Brooks’ second feature, following her Tribeca Fest-winning film “The Boy Downstairs.” Kerry Barden and Paul Schnee cast that film, so if Brooks is looking to return to the familiar, they may return for this project.
