Anxiety in auditions…
“Hello! So, short story, when I was in high school, I avoided doing oral presentations because the kids would laugh at me and make fun of me. I’m having really bad anxiety in auditions because of this. Has anyone ever gotten ‘laughed at’ or ‘made fun of’ at an audition or do they stay pretty professional?” —Startingout
Affordable voice lessons?
“Does anyone have a voice teacher they like that charges less than $100/hour? I am sure that everyone is worth every penny. That’s just seven hours of work at minimum wage, and not something I’m able to afford right now.” —Bookmeharder
Nonunion at EPAs & ECCs?
“I am recently back from a few years break from the industry, and really out of the loop about all the changes—both the new virtual environment and how union/nonunion works since AEA changed the entry requirement. I’m EMC—is that still a thing that matters for anything? Nonunion actors, how is the rate of getting your tapes viewed at all and booking from EPAs and ECCs for, say, an SPT season compared to a nonunion call? What about for larger regional work and union tours? Thanks in advance!” —megan97
