Based on the first book in the series by celebrated author Elena Ferrante, this eight-episode adaptation will be under the direction of Saverio Costanza and casting director Meredith Tucker.

Jennifer Schuur will executive produce for Wildside and Fandango, reviving her relationship with HBO following her involvement with its late series, “Big Love.”

As for the juicy details: the team is casting two female actors, both ages 13–18, to play 14–17. Both actors must be native or fluent speakers of the Neapolitan dialect as well as classic Italian.

The two talents will be hired as series regulars and will be paid $3,500/week with all travel, accommodations, and work visa costs covered by the production. The production, it must be mentioned, will shoot in Naples, Italy from January–June 2018. An air date is not known at this time.
