Are headshot retouches necessary?
“Hey all,
“I finally saved up and got some new photos done. The photographer was GREAT and I got exactly what I was looking for. Now my question is...should I edit them? I feel like they look great minus a few blemishes here and there but I know they’ll be next to other headshots that may be retouched?
“I’m just not sure. Money’s tight so I’m trying to figure out if I need to pay to get these edited by the photographer? Or, can I edit them myself with something like FaceTune? What’s industry standard?
“Any help or opinions would be tremendously appreciated. Thank you.” —StoryLover
Networking for child actors?
“Does anyone have advice on networking for child actors outside the LA area? I’m 15 years old and live a few hours away from LA. Because of this, joining an LA acting class to network would be too much driving for my parents. Has anyone had good experiences with casting director workshops as far as networking? Also, is social media an effective method to network? Any advice on networking as a teen who can’t drive herself to LA yet would be appreciated!” —TKActress
Formatting acting résumé?
“I’m trying to make an acting resume for the first time and need help formatting it. Any tips on how it should look and how to organize it?” —ClassAct
