Hip-Hop Theater Benefit

This Wednesday night, Malik Yoba ("New York Undercover") will host "A Night of Hip-Hop Theater," an evening of exciting performances benefiting the Hip-Hop Theater Festival.

Presented at the Harry Du Jur Playhouse at the Abrons Arts Center (446 Grand St., corner of Pitt), the festivities kick off at 6 pm with a pre-show reception and silent auction; the performances begin at 8 pm, followed by an all-night after-party. Tickets are $40.

The benefit will showcase highlights from the festival's last three years, including: Will Power performing excerpts from the upcoming "Flow," directed by Danny Hoch; one act of Ben Snyder and Ari Esler's "You Can Clap Now"; and a piece from "O-live" by Rafael Xavier, better known as part of Rennie Harris's hip-hip dance company Puremovement.

The event is sponsored by the Hip-Hop Theater Festival, Caseroc Productions and Complex Magazine.
