Host New Web Series ‘One Thing’ for The Spruce

A new weekly web series is looking for a host. Each episode will introduce audiences to a new insight or tip about one of the following topics: cooking and food, home decor and organization, or parenting and family. The series is called “One Thing” and will be hosted on Shooting will take place either in’s New York City Midtown studio or on location.

The host of the series will guide audiences through each short video, providing demos, descriptions, and occasional interaction with experts. The persona of the host should be an authentic and congenial friend or neighbor who can introduce and describe insight and tips without becoming preachy. Understated expertise and a passion for home life are essential.

The project is being developed by Dotdash. They are seeking applicants that are female, aged 25–35. Someone with a following on social media, whether YouTube, Instagram, a blog, or otherwise, would be a perfect fit for this project, especially if their following involves home, food, or lifestyle.

This casting is for an ongoing project in New York City and applicants should live in the city or the metro area. The series begins shooting on March 15, with occasional shoot dates for the next six to 12 months. Compensation is based on a day rate, between $500-1,000, depending on experience and social media following.
