HBO’s “Barry” Season 3 is almost here. The hit series starring Bill Hader premieres on April 24, and while the show isn’t currently casting, we decided to round up some similar gigs to celebrate the show’s return. If you want to star in a project that reminds you of “Barry”—whether it’s a dark comedy or mockumentary-style short—these gigs are for you.
“Pickersville Talent House”
The New York Film Academy is seeking talent for their mockumentary-style short film about a talent house opening in a small town. This comedy is seeking talent for a variety of roles, including leads. They need male talent, aged 25–40, and female talent, aged 18–26 and 35–45. Rehearsals and shoot dates are TBH but they are seeking talent from the L.A. area. This project pays $120 per day for an estimated four days.

“Stalled”
Three Leaf Clover Productions is casting for this dark comedy. “Stalled” follows a man who is tormented by a child in a bathroom. They are seeking male talent, aged 18–40, for a supporting role. They are also casting background work for various crowd scenes. The film will shoot on April 21–25 in L.A. This is an unpaid project.

“Dealing 101”
This fast-paced student film is looking to cast lead and supporting roles. They are looking for male talent, aged 6–35. Shoot dates are flexible but will begin on April 20 in Nottingham, UK near the Arboretum. This is an unpaid project.

“Stale Ink”
This postmodern short film is looking for skilled actors. The dark comedy follows four aspiring screenwriters who are desperate to break into the industry. Production wants male talent, aged 20–35, and female talent, aged 20–30. This project shoots April 26–30 or May 3–7 at the University of Derby, London.

“Fragile”
A new road trip-themed feature film needs talent. They are looking to cast an assortment of roles, including their lead. Production wants female talent, aged 18 and older, as well as male talent, aged 25–35, and 50 and older. Shooting takes place the week of May 16 in California and Tucson, Arizona. This is a paid project with pay ranging from a flat rate of $500–$1,000 (depending on your role) for an estimated six days of work.
