Backstage.com, says Arthur Moore IV, is “easily my favorite acting site.” The North Hollywood, Calif.–based actor browses casting notices daily for both comedic and serious roles, and the list of jobs he’s booked through the site is growing: on top of two music videos, Moore recently booked his first-ever lead role in “Remembering Tate,” a short film for UCLA’s summer program.
“I felt it was my responsibility to make sure I was sharp and know all my lines,” he says, adding that it’s important to “not be bigger than anybody else or the story. That’s pretty much how I approach every role I book.”
In “Remembering Tate,” Moore had fun finding the hidden quirks in his character. “It was about a guy whose only friend was a hamster, so he throws a big funeral that no one wants to be at.” Needless to say, both the audition—for which he solemnly read the hamster’s eulogy—and the shooting process allowed Moore to show off his considerable comedic chops.
Congratulations, Arthur!
