“I like to book heavy, dramatic, emotional characters, but I am open to completely anything that has a strong story,” Denisa Juhos explains. Glancing at the actor’s projects from the last year, that mindset is certainly clear.

Through Backstage, Juhos has booked a leading role in the comedy “To New Beginnings,” in which she portrayed a lesbian who periodically changes into a demon; the role of a woman with a brain tumor experiencing daily memory loss in the dramedy “RAM”; and the leading role in “If I Only Knew” as a young woman who is abused by her brother.

To ensure she can fit in as many gigs as possible, Juhos has developed a strategy. “I use Backstage whenever I know I can put something into my schedule,” she says. “For example, right now I’m booked out until the end of March, then again from the end of April until June, so I’m looking for projects filming in the gap.”

Juhos credits Backstage for providing her with ample acting opportunities. The resource, she says, “is not focused on background work and gives actors the possibility to book real speaking roles and build up their reels and train their craft.”
