Indiana-based child actor Emma Rogers searches through Backstage’s casting notices with her mother each morning before leaving for school. She’s recently been cast in two productions solely through her Backstage profile—short film “I Always Knew You Loved Me,” and a photo and video project for Acadia Healthcare—proving that an updated profile can be an invaluable tool for any actor.

Rogers’ mother, Ellen, describes the process her daughter went through to get into character for “I Always Knew You Loved Me,” where she plays a younger version of one of the adult characters. “It was a true stretch for Emma because the script called for her to throw a punch,” she says. “Emma has never been angry to the point of throwing a punch, so she had to do some deep thinking during her preparation for the role.”

Emma recalls having positive experiences on both sets, and plans to continue submitting for other projects in the future. “Neither project took very long, and if anything, I wish that I could have been on set longer,” she says. “But maybe something big is around the corner, just waiting for me in the postings of Backstage!”
