A certified family medicine physician, actor Jean Roberts was in her element when she was recently cast in a print and video shoot for Acadia Healthcare. Roberts has been a Backstage subscriber for just under a year, and uses the site as a tool to craft her new pursuit: an acting career.
“Nine months ago, I made the decision to leave my full-time medical practice in order to pursue my acting career full-time,” Roberts says. “It was then that I made the decision to invest in a subscription to Backstage, [and] the investment was well worth it.”
She learned about the opportunity when she received a message on Backstage from Tom Wyler, Acadia’s video production manager. During the two-hour shoot in Indianapolis, Roberts played a nurse practitioner and a mental health therapist.
“Tom told me that he found me by searching Backstage’s talent database, and that he selected me based on my profile alone,” she says. “Without my profile presence, I wouldn’t have had this opportunity!”
