When will in person EPAs return? Will they?
“I’ve been frustrated with the lack of communication from Equity on this topic and in general haven’t heard anything other than that self-tapes are likely to stick around as a first round option. Has anyone read or heard anything about returning EPA auditions? I understand that we are still in the danger zone as far as the pandemic goes but with most other industries returning to a realm of altered normalcy, I’m waiting daily to see dates announced for in person EPAs. Anyone got any information that I may have missed?” —charlesINcharge
Memorizing sides?
“What’s been the consensus on memorizing sides for self-tape auditions? I know for in-person, the general rule has been to be familiar with sides but hold them and reference them in an audition/callback. For self-tapes, are people preparing the same way or fully memorizing?” —DollyG
Equity/SAG-AFTRA relationship?
“So I’m about to join Equity, but I was told over the phone that since SAG-AFTRA is a sister union to AEA, I will no longer be able to work non-union jobs in film. I always thought I was pretty well informed on the subject of unions, but somehow I didn’t understand that. Am I getting that right? Joining Equity means no more nonunion film/commercial/voiceover gigs? Even if I don’t join SAG?” —JellicleCat
