Josh Duhamel is reprising his role on soap opera "All My Children" in August -- one month before the soap opera signs off the air after 41 years.

Duhamel won a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in 2002 for playing Leo du Pres.

He's not the only star who got his start on soap operas.

Kelly Ripa began acting on "All My Children," where she met her husband, Mark Consuelos. They both returned for the show's 40th anniversary in 2009. (After hearing "Children" would be going off the air, Ripa said, "This is like losing a member of your family. 'All My Children' was more than a job.-- it was my family. It was there that I met my husband; it was there when my first two children were born; it was there where I met many of my life-long friends. It was the greatest training ground ever. I feel heart sick.")

Melissa Leo, who won an Oscar earlier this year for her role on "The Fighter," made her acting debut on "All My Children," playing Linda Warner from 1984 to 1996.

Sarah Michelle Gellar, who will return to TV this fall in CW drama, "Ringer," played Erica Kane's (Susan Lucci) daughter, Kendall, on "All My Children" from 1993 to 1995.

Christian Slater played a teen named Caleb Thompson on "All My Children" in 1986.
