Kids Now Casting: HBO’s ‘The Deuce’ With James Franco

Creator David Simon (“The Wire”) is seeking young New York City actors to play background talent in his anticipated new project with HBO, “The Deuce.” Set in a gritty and grimy Times Square in 1971, the series stars James Franco and Maggie Gyllenhaal.

A June 16 shoot needs boy and girl actors of all ethnicities aged 9–12 to reenact a stick ball game as background talent. A fitting is happening today, June 14, in Brooklyn and on Thursday, June 16, before the outside shoot in NYC. Hired union talent will receive $157 for eight hours of work, and nonunion talent will receive $133.
