L.A. Casting: Short Thriller ‘Deceit’ Is Seeking Lead and Supporting Actors + More Gigs

There are plenty of great acting jobs around Los Angeles today, including a role in “Deceit,” a short student thriller. Plus, model for a jeans company or star in a two-show Shakespeare festival.

“DECEIT”
Casting is currently underway for “Deceit,” a short student film from Loyola Marymount University that follows a recently-hired news station executive who, after a crime occurs at a gas station, must decide whether to change the story or tell it as it happened. A male actor, aged 25–40, is wanted to play the lead role of Mark. There are additional roles for talent, aged 18–60, including an additional lead role. Rehearsals will take place on March 22, 23, or 24, and the film shoots on March 29–31 in Los Angeles. Rates vary with meals, copy, and credit provided for all. Apply here!

LE JEANS COMMERCIAL
Join a shoot for a commercial for Le Jeans. Talent, aged 18–28, is wanted to model jeans. The commercial will shoot the first week of March in L.A. Pay is $200 per day. Apply here!

SHAKESPEARE BY THE SEA
Shakespeare by the Sea, a two-show, outdoor summer Shakespeare festival, is casting non-union actors for its two shows, “Henry V” and “The Comedy of Errors.” Talent, aged 18–60, is wanted for a variety of roles in the productions, including the titular King Henry V. Rehearsals will begin on May 5 and performances are on June 13 and 20 at Pt. Fermin Park in San Pedro, followed by a tour in Southern California. Pay is $2,000 for actors in both shows and $1,000 for actors in one show. Apply here!
