“Life-Size 2”
Children of the ’90s might remember a certain TV movie where a supermodel whose character, a doll turned human, became a companion for a young Lindsay Lohan. Now Freeform is about to revive the made-for-TV classic “Life-Size.” Tyra Banks, who is on board to star and executive produce, has been eager to revisit the film for the last several years. The story this time around is said to be a modern Christmas tale that finds Eve on a mission to help a young woman rediscover love and happiness. Lohan is rumored to be reprising her role for the new iteration, and the team at Silverberg/Harris Casting has been busy assembling additional cast members for the film. The project will shoot primarily in Atlanta. Production on the family comedy is set to begin in July, and the film will premiere during Freeform’s “25 Days of Christmas” marathon.

“Tales of the City”
Going home is hard to do, especially when the family you abandoned 20 years prior is still living there. Laura Linney’s character is leaving her perfect midlife crisis to return home in the Netflix series adaptation of Armistead Maupin’s novel “Tales of the City.” Her choice proves consuming as she finds herself lured back into the orbit of 28 Barbary Lane—and the life of one woman in particular. The project, which serves as a sequel to the miniseries that aired in the ’90s on PBS and Showtime, will be cast by Telsey + Company. Linney, Olympia Dukakis, and Barbara Garrick will reprise their roles from the original series, alongside actor Ellen Page. Production is anticipated to start in July and continue through the fall. The 10-episode order, which will air in 2019, will be filmed in New York City.

“My Name Is Dolemite”
For one man who’s about to delve deep into the club and crime scene, revenge is a dish best served cold. A nightclub comedian finds himself in need of help when he risks it all for a chance at the big time. With assistance from three female friends, the man sets out to reclaim his shot at fame. Betty Mae Inc. has already signed Eddie Murphy to play the lead role in the project. The film, produced by and airing on Netflix, has no other actors currently attached. Filming is anticipated to start near mid-June and carry on through the summer. Los Angeles will host the project during production.
