WW1 drama Harry Greenwell shooting in South Wales
Filmmaker Neil Watcyn-Palmer is casting Harry Greenwell, a period short-film named after a Welsh 16-year-old. Set on the eve of a first world war battle, it following the teenage recruit as he sees his first action. The team are casting for a day role and background roles, and are also looking for technical staff. Here’s the breakdown:
Lt General Henry Rawlinson is for a white male actor with a playing age of 50+. A senior officer in the British Army, Henry is pompous, thin, and immaculately dressed. This role involves horse riding at full gallop in costume, so you’ll need to have riding experience.
Background roles Platoon Comrades are for actors all ethnicities with playing ages 17–50. The team are looking for a bunch of Harry’s fellow soldiers who are able to perform in a Welsh accent, speak some rehearsed Welsh, and sing with confidence. Performers with weapons training are preferred.

Casting coordinator Jimi Dallimore is seeking actors in the West Midlands for a skit shooting this week. Filmed for online construction industry channel On The Tools, the skit is based around a sketch where viewers decide the outcome of the plot. This time, it’s exploring the difficulties of sticking to New Year’s resolutions. Here’s a breakdown of roles:
Dave is for a male actor of any ethnicity with a playing age of 25–40. He’s one half of a duo that work on a building site.
Matt is also for a male actor of any ethnicity with a playing age of 25–40. He’s the other half of the duo.
Sam is for a male actor of any ethnicity with a playing age of 18–23. An apprentice tradesman who works with Dave and Matt, he struggles to stick to his New Year’s resolutions and isn’t in the mood to help his co-workers.
The Blind Date is for a female actor of any ethnicity with a playing age of 18–29. She’s a young woman on a blind date with a very nervous Dave.
