Matthew De Vine puts Backstage to use and it shows, in both his career and his life. From enduring relationships to meaningful roles, this actor knows how to go after what he wants.

Find roles that resonate.
“For [a recent project], I play a man who just wants to find his place in society but sadly feels like society doesn’t want him. He’s a kind person, but he’s in pain. He wants to know what his purpose is.”

Don’t veer from tough projects.
“I loved how the director wanted to discuss the real-life issues of teenagers today. They have to be talked about more often, and if I’m able to help spread his vision through acting, I’m more than happy to do so.”

There’s enough to go around.
“I advise actors to always update their [Backstage] profile with new information as soon as they can, and to keep applying. You will get jobs! Just believe in yourself. By applying, networking, and reaching out, I use Backstage completely.”

Backstage attracts the best.
“I have formed many long-lasting friendships and bonds through Backstage, and I truly appreciate [it] for showing me these opportunities. Even now, I just finished a play I landed through Backstage, and I’m so grateful to have worked with such hardworking and talented individuals.”
