Hundreds of trained actors—both well-known and under-the-radar—have built their technical foundation on the teachings of Konstantin Stanislavsky and his “System,” as well as Lee Strasberg’s resulting “Method.” But many actors working today actually misconstrue what, exactly, Method acting is and what it entails.

Jeffrey Wright, star of “Westworld” on HBO, recently sat with Backstage and broke down the basics of what it is and the common misconception that it’s all about “what you manipulate through an experience as you work on the project.”
