Spring Awakening, has withdrawn from the upcoming Broadway revival of Les Misèrables to perform in the Broadway version of

Spring,according to a report on Playbill.com. The article cited no sources in its report.

Michelle was to have played Eponine when Les Mis returns to Broadway on Oct. 24, "but is expected to reprise Wendla" when the Duncan Sheik-Steven Sater musical opens sometime during the 2006-07 season, Playbill reported. Auditions for Eponine are to take place next week.

Jonathan Groff, who plays Michele's love interest, recently withdrew from the Paper Mill Playhouse's fall production of Godspell, indicating rehearsals for Spring Awakening will start in the coming months.
