For "Naked Babies: F**k the Machine," Seth Morris, Brian Huskey and Robert Corddry found inspiration in the most unexpected places. Interoffice politics, SUVs and actress Meryl Streep figured prominently in the improv trio's impressively wacky scenes.
In the most inventive -- and surprising -- sketch of the evening, two astronauts discover that Earth was conquered and colonized by SUVs during the SUV Wars led by General Jeepington. Morris appears to be having the most fun as a mysterious man (absurdly called the Codmonger) who welcomes the astronauts to his planet, Englandton. He's also very convincing as an alluring local girl who takes a distracting "laser bath" in the middle of the sketch. Huskey and Corddry are excellent as befuddled astronauts who ultimately find their new planet too good to be true.
Huskey appears as an uptight corporate drone in the show's amusing opening scene. Concerned that his co-workers (Morris and Corddry) will undermine his authority, he wears a vest, bowler hat and monocle and drinks only tea. His dated ensemble doesn't inspire much confidence, however; He is ridiculed and beaten by his staff in a "hazing ritual" worthy of a power-mad fraternity.
Finally, as a stern drill sergeant, Morris commands Huskey and Corddry to defend their love of art house movies like "The Hours." Huskey launches into an elaborate defense of Meryl Streep's "dubious" film choices, including "The River Wild" and "Death Becomes Her." He argues that she had to take a few less prestigious film roles because she needed the money for a house.
