Brief Theatre History/Statement of Philosophy: Playhouse on the Square is a professional resident not-for-profit theatre company, serving a broad constituency in a diverse ethnic and cultural community of more than one million people. For 36 years, we have produced an extremely diverse repertory and are committed to providing long-term employment to a core acting company and artistic staff. The resident company concept therefore requires us to seek out versatile individuals who are committed to ensemble growth. This philosophy provides artists the opportunity to work and expand their skills in the eighteen diverse shows produced here each season.

Casting/Staff & Tech Opportunities: Resident Company. Most roles are cast from company & intern company. Some guest artist opportunities. Guest scenic design opportunities available. We primarily attend UPTA & SETC. Resumes, portfolios, & videotapes are welcome.

Opportunities for Interns: Various Internships are filled each year. Primarily 6 Performance Interns, and 5 Technical/Administrative Interns, including Costume Design, Scenic Design, Lighting Design, Stage Management, Asst. Stage Management/Props, and Theatre Management. Wonderful opportunities for acting, technical, and administrative credits. Contracts are year-around.
