Casting is underway for “Heist School Crush,” a coming-of-age, heist film where three best friends find themselves on an after-hours mission to retrieve an embarrassing love poem one of them submits to their English teacher. Actors, aged 18–50, are wanted for several roles, including the lead roles of Sid, Dakota, and Tate. Filming will take place in August in the Pennsylvania and South Jersey area. Pay is $25–$200 with meals provided.

“The Misfit Toys”
Stellar City Productions has begun casting “The Misfit Toys,” a modern-day indie pop high school musical about four exceptionally talented kids who form a band, stop a bully, and fall in love. Four actors, aged 18–22, are wanted for the lead roles of Candy, Treat, Finn, and Blake. All roles will require the ability to rap, beatbox, play an instrument, and/or sing. The actor playing Finn must also be able to play a ball sport or be able to skateboard. Callbacks will be held on June 20–21. Filming will take place on Oct. 8–10 in Manhattan, New York City. Pay is $200 per day.

“Children at Play”
Casting is underway for “Children at Play,” a coming-of-age film about a group of friends traveling through L.A. and Covina to deliver a gift to one of their crushes. Young male actors, aged 13–17, are wanted for lead and supporting roles. Filming will take place in July in Hollywood and Covina. Pay is $50 per day for three to five days of filming with travel and meals provided.

“Kids On The Wall”
Join the cast of “Kids On The Wall,” a coming-of-age surf drama about a group of foster and outcast teens who form an unlikely brotherhood around a legendary graffiti-covered surf wall. San Diego-based actors and models, aged 16–60, are wanted for lead and supporting roles. Production is also hiring an assistant director. Filming will begin this fall in San Diego and Orange County, with possible dates in Hawaii, as well. Pay is $75–$150 per day for up to 30 days of work.

“Unwritten”
X.Wynn Films is currently casting actors for “Unwritten,” a short coming-of-age teen sports drama exploring identity, masculinity, and the inner lives of young Black men through the lens of a high school football star. Talent, aged 8–45, is wanted for various roles, including the protagonist James. Production is also hiring a gaffer and a director of photography. Filming will begin this summer in Cincinnati, Ohio. “Going-Away Party”
Join the cast of “Going-Away Party,” a YA short film with themes of climate change, coming-of-age, human nature/survival, and young love and following five college students who have been chosen to take part in a first-of-its-kind environmental research project on a man-made island off the East Coast, where they must fend for themselves in the face of near-certain death. Three actors, aged 18–25, are wanted for lead roles. Rehearsals will take place over Zoom, followed by filming on Long Beach Island, New Jersey, with dates TBD. Pay is up to $250 per day with the exact rate TBD for four days of work. Transportation costs may be covered.
