“The Wrong Missy”
Dating can be rough, and David Spade is about to learn the tricky nature of blind dating firsthand in his new Netflix film, “The Wrong Missy.” Spade, a regular player in Adam Sandler’s Happy Madison Productions projects, is capitalizing on the company’s deal to provide new exclusive films with the streaming giant. Always a natural at slapstick comedy, Spade will play a man looking for love on the dating circuit. When he encounters an eccentric, chaotic woman named Missy, he’s quick to get out of the disastrous date. Thinking he’s long past the encounter, he invites his current crush, also named Missy, to his company retreat, but when he arrives to woo the new woman, he finds he invited the wrong Missy. Hilarity ensues as he tries to work through the retreat with the out-of-control woman. Spade is currently the only name on the call sheet, but additional casting is being conducted through the office of Betty Mae Casting. Production is slated to be up and running by mid-February and will continue into the spring. Hawaii will host the comedy shoot.

“Run Sweetheart Run”
As hard as David Spade may have it, dating can also be downright dangerous. The fight to survive a deadly date will take one woman miles on foot through Los Angeles. The horror film by Blumhouse Productions will follow a young woman who goes on what she expects to be a harmless blind date. When the man starts to become violent, she quickly realizes she’s in a fight for her life. Stranded without a way to get to safety, the woman starts to traverse the streets of Los Angeles while her date stalks closely behind. The suspense-driven thriller is still months from filming, but casting is underway with Terri Taylor Casting. No actors are currently attached to the project, but the cast will need to come together before filming begins in early March. Los Angeles will serve as both the setting and production location for the film, which will shoot until mid-May.

“Let It Snow”
Christmas is over, but for Netflix, the holiday season is a year-round celebration. The streaming network has put the adaptation of the book “Let It Snow,” co-authored by John Green, Maureen Johnson, and Lauren Myracle, into production. It’s a holiday-themed film following the trials of several high school students. After a once-in-a-lifetime snowstorm hits a small town on Christmas Eve, a group of high school seniors find their lives and futures upended. No actors have signed on to the film yet, but 5th House Casting is on the job looking for talent. Production will start in early January in Toronto.
