The Netflix hit series about three girlfriends who juggle life, love, and friendships in a small Southern town is back for Season 2! The show, which cultivated a huge fan following in its freshman season, is based on the books by the same name. “Mahogany”

Casting is underway for “Mahogany,” a coming-of-age feature film about a woman from an urban neighborhood who is trying not to become a product of her environment. Production is seeking a Black male actor, aged 18–30, to play the role of Phil, who is a bad influence on the main character. The film shoots April 13–20 in Houston, Texas. Pay is $100-$200 per day.

“The Easiest Thing”

This play by Savannah Hankinson is about a group of friends who go away for a 30th birthday only to find out the couple who invited them is getting a divorce. Casting is underway for a Black or ethnically ambiguous non-binary male actor, aged 20–40, to play one of the friends on the trip. Rehearsals take place in person and on Zoom as soon as possible. The show runs March 4, 5, 6, 10 and 12 at The Tank in New York City. Pay is $400.

“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”

Casting is underway for Season 5 of “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.” The hit series is looking for talent to play flight attendants. Production wants female talent, aged 18 and older, who are comfortable getting a 1960s-inspired haircut. Shooting takes place Feb. 14–15 in Brooklyn. Pay is $210 per day, along with a $60 COVID test stipend.

“Three Women”

This Showtime series, based on a book of the same name by Lisa Taddeo, is casting background talent. Production wants actors of all genders, aged 20–60, to play ski-themed party caterers and high-end guests. The tentative shoot date is Feb. 18 in Tarrytown, New York. Pay is $182 for 8 hours of work. A $100 COVID test stipend will also be provided.

The Color Purple”

The Warner Brothers production of “The Color Purple” is seeking a variety of background extras. Casting is underway for Black actors of any gender, aged 18–45; Black male twins, aged 3–5; and Black female twins, aged 3–5. The film shoots March 21–June 17 in Atlanta, Georgia; Macon, Georgia; and Savannah, Georgia. Pay is between $110–$150 per day.

“The Innocent”

This new primetime drama series from NBC is looking for a variety of recurring background actors. Production is seeking an actor of any gender, aged 20–40, to play an FBI agent; an actor of any gender, aged 18–70, to play a Mormon church member; and an actor of any gender, aged 9-14, to play a middle school student. The show shoots March 2–July 1 in Atlanta, Georgia. Pay is $88–$154 per day.
