New York actors: We’ve got four casting opportunities for you today! Whether you’re looking to stay in the city for commercial and film work or you want to take a trip down south to spend a few weeks in Roanoke, Va., we’ve got exciting gigs for city boys and girls alike.
SOCIAL COMMERCIAL FOR INTERNATINAL MAKEUP BRAND
Filming in Lower Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood, this chic ‘n’ stylish “girls night out” themed makeup campaign is casting young model types for a January 2016 shoot. More specifically, producer Jos D of Code and Theory needs an “It Girl” aged 18–25. This job pays $200 and is casting through next week.
MILL MOUNTAIN THEATRE 2016 SEASON
Mill Mountain Theatre, a company based in Roanoke, Va., is coming to New York City Feb. 8 to cast its 2016 season, which includes productions of “The Music of Motown” kicking things off in March, “The Music of Abba,” “The Odd Couple,” and “White Christmas.” The company’s creative team is also holding auditions in Roanoke late next month. Each production pays $536 per week.
SUPPER
Watch Hill Productions is currently casting this upcoming short film that follows Scotty Boy, a “cocky” young man who confronts an older man, Terry, “about respect and trust.” They’re also casting Lucy, a young woman who comically interrupts the confrontation. For all three roles, the ability to perform an English or Irish accent is a major plus! The production is seeking submissions from Philadelphia, Pa., and New York, N.Y., and it’s filming in New York in late February 2016.
WHITE PAINT
This New York-set student film is shooting Feb. 27–March 1 and now seeking talent for its entire cast, including its leading half-sisters, Jasmin and Maritza. Jasmin is a black lawyer and Maritza a Latina stripper, and the two of them live together with Maritza’s son Isaiah in an old tenement flat. When their landlord, Robert Pressman, tries to kick them out due to gentrification, they refuse to go down without a fight. The job pays $20 to $135 per day, depending on the role, and meals are provided.
