“Phillip”
Casting is underway for “Phillip,” a short grad-level student film set in a bustling mall where a 10-year-old Iranian-American boy resolves to assert his independence from his overprotective, anxious, immigrant mother. Two Iranian/Iranian-American actors, one aged 9–12 and one aged 35–45, are wanted for the two lead roles of Ramin and Taraneh. The actor playing Taraneh must speak Farsi. Additionally, a white male actor, aged 35–45, is wanted for a supporting role. Preference will be given to local talent in New York and New Jersey, but nationwide submissions are welcome and encouraged. Filming will take place between April 13–18 in New York City. Pay is $200 per day for one or five days of work with all travel, food, and lodging if necessary paid or reimbursed.

“Downstairs”
Popejoy Entertainment is seeking talent for “Downstairs,” a short film about a local movie theater owner hiding a sinister secret in his theater’s basement. Actors, aged 16–55, are wanted for various roles, including the lead role of Wilson. Additionally, production is hiring multiple crew positions, including a director of photography, a sound mixer, a remote script supervisor, and more. Talent will work in December 2025 in Taft, California. Pay is $50 per hour for the script supervisor, and $200 per day for all other roles, with lodging, meals, and travel covered.
