The “Sex and the City” revival “And Just Like That” is currently seeking real hairstylists in New York for background roles. Plus, an environmental horror story, an indie film, and a neo-noir feature are casting talent now.

“And Just Like That…” Season 2

Background casting continues for Season 2 of HBO’s “And Just Like That….” Real hairstylists, aged 20–45, are wanted for a shoot next week. Talent will work on Jan. 23 in New York City, with mandatory COVID-19 testing on Jan. 22. Pay is $187.

“Thirsty Thursday”

Rad Entertainment is now casting talent for “Thirsty Thursday,” a feature film about a group of childhood friends who come back together for a wild night of fun before a reunion in their small, Midwestern town when they soon discover the environmental destruction of the local rivers has awakened a slumbering creature. Talent, aged 25–35, is wanted for three lead roles. One of the roles requires an actor who is a unilateral arm or leg amputee. Filming will take place in  June 2023 for the trailer and Summer of 2024 for the film in Logansport, Indiana. Pay is $3,150–$10,500 for 21 days of work.

“Above Ground”

Actors, aged 18 and older, are wanted for various leads and supporting roles in the indie film “Above Ground.” Talent will rehearse for one day and film for three days in Los Angeles with dates TBD. Pay is $200 per day with meals and credit provided.

“Twenty Seven”

Satellite Collective is now seeking eight actors, aged 18–65, for supporting and day player roles in the remaining scenes of “Twenty Seven,” a neo-noir feature about “a young hoodlum who rebels against his crime family.” Filming will take place in mid-to-late February in NYC. Pay is $200-$400 per day, with travel and food provided.
