Looking to get cast in a commercial? How about a feature film? Short film? A piece of New York theater? We’ve got you covered! Check out these four great opportunities from today’s Backstage casting notices below.
BARK&CO.
Are you a dog-loving actor? This is the job for you! Paris Film Productions is now casting an online commercial for Bark&Co., the creative minds behind BarkBox and an assortment of other doggie goodies “that foster the health and happiness of dogs everywhere.” Auditions are being held in New York City March 31 and April 1 for the April 3 and April 4 shoot. The commercial, which depicts multiple dog owners with different breeds of dogs, calls for actors of all ages and ethnicities who are “extremely comfortable interacting with dogs.” A small stipend, meals, and travel will be provided.
“SHAM”
This feature ensemble film that explores technology, power, and the “millennial crisis” is seeking nationwide submissions for over 20 lead and supporting roles. Shooting in New York City in late 2016, this project pays $100 per day plus meals and travel. “We’ve garnered attention from international producers and been described as a truly diverse, nuanced cast and one of the most relevant stories in development today,” says executive producer Christopher Fung in the casting notice. Check out the full listing for character breakdowns and more.
“THREE CHRISTS”
Set to take the Dixon Place stage in New York City this June, “Three Christs” is holding auditions April 4 and April 5 for all four of its roles. As the title indicates, three of these roles will be people that have Christ Syndrome—they each believe that they’re the child of God. The fourth role is a scientist who conducts an experiment to try to return them to state of normalcy. Unsurprisingly, the experiment doesn’t go as planned. “Three Christs” will rehearse for four weeks leading up to the June 11 premiere. A stipend will be provided.
“DAY AT THE BEACH”
This short film from Curiouser Creative Studio is now casting three roles, including two leads (one male, one female), in addition to background talent and extras. “Day at the Beach” is the story of Hannah, a college student who’s home for Christmas and takes to the beach after fighting with her family. Submissions are being taken from New York City; New Jersey; and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Principal roles will be paid $125 per day plus meal and travel for the two-day shoot this May.
