Now Casting: All-Female ‘Ocean’s 8’ and More Projects

Today’s casting roundup is so star-studded, it may blind you with its wattage. “Ocean’s 8,” the all-female spin-off of “Ocean’s 11” set to star Sandra Bullock, Anne Hathaway, Cate Blanchett, Sarah Paulson, Mindy Kaling, Rihanna, and Helena Bonham Carter, is now casting background talent. “OCEAN’S 8”
“Ocean’s 8,” the all-female spin-off of “Ocean’s 11,” seeks background talent. The film, starring Oscar winners Bullock, Hathaway, and Blanchett (to name a few), is casting male and female talent aged 18–35 to portray “trendy club types.” The project is shooting until the end of February 2017 in New York City.

“THE HARD SONG”
Lead and supporting roles are sought for “The Hard Song,” a feature film billed as “a moody drama set in the grunge era.” Written and directed by Christen Kimbell, the piece will rehearse and shoot in spring 2017 in Seattle, Washington.

UNTITLED JUSTIN LONG WEB SERIES
A new web series produced, directed, written by and starring Justin Long is casting lead and supporting roles. The project, which “explores the realities and contrivances of internet stardom,” will begin preproduction Oct. 10, with shooting slated for Oct. 22–Nov. 4 in Sarasota, Florida.

“TO TAKE A LOVER”
Upcoming indie feature, “To Take a Lover,” is casting three leading roles. The film, “exploring marriage and gender norms of the 1940s and the ‘gas lighting’ of women,” will rehearse this winter, with shooting set for a week-long period in spring 2017 in New York City.
