Now Casting: HBO Pilot ‘Watchmen’ Needs Background Actors + 3 More Gigs

Keep a watchful eye on the prize ahead of today’s casting roundup. Join the cast of the HBO TV pilot of “Watchmen,” based on the popular comic book series, now casting in Georgia. Plus, join a comedy web series from a major TV director, a low-budget feature is casting its two leads, and the upcoming Broadway production of the Harvey Fierstein play “Torch Song” is casting its understudies.

“WATCHMEN”
Casting is currently underway for the HBO TV pilot of “Watchmen,” based on the comic series by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons. Talent, aged 18 and older, is wanted for multiple background and featured background roles. Acting ability is needed for certain roles, as well as specialized skills, such as the ability to cry on cue or play the piano. The production will shoot from May 30–31 in Cedartown, Georgia, and May 30–June 6 in Macon, Georgia. All roles correspond to specific shoot dates. COMEDY SERIES WITH “30 ROCK” DIRECTOR
“DK the Gig,” a new online comedy series from “30 Rock” and “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” director Claire Cowperthwaite, is now casting most major roles. Talent, aged 35–75, is wanted for multiple lead and day player roles, including Benny, the lifelong friend of the lead character. Projected shoot dates will be July 9–21 in New York City and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Some pay, plus travel expenses, will be provided. Apply here!

HARVEY FIERSTEIN’S “TORCH SONG”
Join the cast of the upcoming Broadway production of the Harvey Fierstein hit “Torch Song.” Male and female talent, aged 20–59, is sought to be understudies for the lead characters of Arnold, Ed, Ma/Laurel, and Alan/David. There will be an Equity Principal audition on May 24 in NYC. Rehearsals will begin Sept. 17, with an understudy start date currently TBD. Previews begin Oct. 9 and the show opens Nov. 1 at the Hayes Theatre. Pay is $2,037 per week, minimum. Apply here!

“ETERNITY”
“Eternity,” a low-budget, independent, full-length feature film, is now casting its lead roles. A female actor, aged 22–35, and a male actor, aged 30–45, are wanted to play the roles of Michelle and Raymond, respectively. Shoot dates are TBD in Los Angeles. Pay is $125 per day. Apply here!
