Don’t miss any of today’s top gigs! Rewind to the early aughts for a feature-length horror film, now seeking its star. Plus, a Bass Pro Shops commercial and a pair of dark comedy shorts are casting talent today!

“Dead Format”

Red Splatter Productions is seeking talent for “Dead Format,” a feature-length horror film set in the 2000s on the brink of the collapse of the video rental industry when an obsessive collector desperately clinging to the past with his vast movie archive finds a mysterious tape at his local rental store and discovers that nostalgia comes with a terrible price. New York City and Philadelphia, Pennslyvania-based actors, aged 18–80, are wanted for various roles in the film, including the starring role of Kevin. Rehearsals will take place this fall, followed by filming in the winter or spring, with the location(s) TBD. Pay is $150–$200 per day for up to 14 days of work, with lodging and a travel stipend provided for out-of-state talent.

Bass Pro Shops Denver Store Commercial, Background Talent

Denver, Colorado-based talent, aged 25–60, is wanted to portray customers in a commercial for Bass Pro Shops. Production is especially seeking those with archery and/or hunting experience. Talent will work on June 18 in Denver. Pay is $75 per hour for a two-hour minimum.

“Arrow”

Join the cast of “Arrow,” a short dark comedy film about a middle school Boy Scout struggling to fit in with his new troop. Atlanta, Georgia-based male talent, aged 11–70, is wanted for various lead and supporting roles. Filming will take place this fall in Atlanta. Pay is $130 per day for up to three days of work for lead roles with meals, credit, and copy provided. Supporting talent will receive a profit share.

“Doll”

Ghetto Film School is seeking talent for “Doll,” a short dark comedy film centered on Charlotte, an undesirable, obsessive woman who is striving for the relationship and life she’s always wanted: the one her sister has. Actors, aged 25 and older are wanted for various roles, including the role of Charlotte. Rehearsals will take place on July 22 or 23, followed by filming on July 27–30 in NYC. Pay is $75–$150 per day for up to five days of work.
