Prepare for Thanksgiving dinner with today’s Backstage casting notices, which include Investigation Discovery’s true-crime series about people whose family members turned out to be killers. “EVIL LIVES HERE”
Several actors are needed for Investigation Discovery’s “Evil Lives Here” Season 2. The true-crime series, exploring “tragic stories of people whose close family members turned out to be killers,” seeks talent for lead, supporting, and day player roles, and will pay $100–$200 depending on the part. Shooting will take place the week of Dec. 12 in New York City.
“WEST SIDE STORY”
Union talent is sought for an upcoming production of classic American musical “West Side Story.” The tuner, with a book by Arthur Laurents and a score by Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim, seeks male and female talent to play both Jets and Sharks, among other roles. Equity chorus calls will be held Dec. 3 and Dec. 4 at Casa Manana in Fort Worth, Texas. A run is slated for Mar. 4–12, 2017.
“BEINGS WANT TO BE JAGGED”
Casting is underway for the two leading roles in “Beings Want to Be Jagged,” a short film depicting a spiraling actress in a hotel room confrontation with a director who is also “the only person she ever trusted in her whole life.” The piece will shoot in January 2017 in Dover, New Jersey.
“BINGE”
“Binge,” a scripted series depicting a group of “struggling artists who become iconic while partying together in New York City,” is casting several lead and supporting roles for its second season. Shooting will be ongoing from summer 2017–spring 2018 around the tri-state area.
