A whole new week and a whole new world! On this fine Monday, we have opportunities in the upcoming Guy Ritchie-directed “Aladdin”—but not just any opportunities. The flick is looking to cast talent for both Aladdin and Jasmine, surely making all your Disney dreams come true! See that and more great gigs below!
“ALADDIN”
Two talented triple threats are needed to play the title role and his love interest, Jasmine, in the forthcoming live-action “Aladdin.” Described as a “retelling” of the classic Disney film, the project is casting a male and female actor, both ages 18–25, able to sing and dance and play characters that are Middle Eastern. Shooting is set for July–January 2018 in the United Kingdom, with professional pay provided.
“THE FLICK”
Mendocino Theater Company is casting nonunion talent for its upcoming production of Annie Baker’s “The Flick.” The piece seeks an African American male actor to depict the leading role of Avery, who’s 20 and “in love with movies,” and a Caucasian actress to play Rose, the “sexually magnetic” 24-year-old. Auditions will be held in New York City by appointment on March 27, with a run slated for May 11–July 16 in Mendocino, California. Pay will be $1,000 with a $400 travel reimbursement.
UNTITLED PILOT
Two leading and five supporting actors are sought for a still-untitled pilot project. The piece, a “one-hour thriller noir pilot,” is casting talent between the ages of 18–52 for the respective roles, and will shoot this summer in both New York and Los Angeles. Producers plan to apply for a SAG-AFTRA agreement.
