A thrilling story, a wide variety of available roles, and a major star—what’s not to love about today’s casting roundup? “The Manuscript,” the upcoming cat-and-mouse thriller starring Morgan Freeman, is seeking actors in New Orleans, Louisiana for background roles. There are also opportunities for a new dating app, an immersive Prohibition Era-themed theatrical experience, and a short narrative film!

“THE MANUSCRIPT”
Join the upcoming cat-and-mouse thriller “The Manuscript,” starring Morgan Freeman as “a jailed genius convict who leads an ambitious junior book editor through clues in his memoir to the $20 million in missing diamonds he stole years earlier.” Male and female talent, aged 20–79, is wanted to portray NYC pedestrians, Hasidic Jews, prisoners, and more in background roles. THE SPEAKEASY SF
Casting is currently underway for performers at the Bay Area’s The Speakeasy SF, an immersive theatrical experience set during San Francisco’s prohibition era. Male and female talent, aged 18–60, are wanted to play several roles in the production, including Velma, the chanteuse of the speakeasy, and Oliver and Jeffries, a vaudeville duo. There is an audition on Oct. 16 in Los Angeles. Contracts will begin as soon as October and as far out as the winter of 2018. Rehearsal runs four to six weeks, followed by three performances per week in San Francisco, California. Pay is $400 for rehearsals and $55–$125 per performance and weekly pick-up rehearsal. “OLD SUMMER”
“Old Summer,” a narrative short film following a group of friends who reunite after graduation in the face of pending news and adapting to life after school, is currently casting lead and supporting roles. Male and female actors, aged 18–32, are sought to play several roles in the film, including the lead role of Khalela. The production will shoot Oct. 6–8 in Hayward, Wisconsin, although the group is NYC-based. Pay is $100 for the weekend, plus food, lodging, and gas money provided. Apply here!
