“Back to the 8 Count”

Casting is underway for “Back to the 8 Count,” an original musical film following a creative child-turned-lifeless adult who abandons her family-paved career in dentistry to pursue her childhood dream of becoming a dancer. Los Angeles-based actor-singers, aged 19–39, are sought for lead and supporting roles, including the protagonist, Clara. There will be in-person callbacks on June 20 or 21, followed by 10 days of vocal/dance rehearsals and 28 days of principal photography in L.A. Pay is $845–$1,161.87 per day for supporting talent and $23,624–$32,482 (eight weeks of work) for the lead actor.

“The Bad News Bears,” ECC Dancers

American Conservatory Theater is now seeking Equity dancers in and around San Francisco, aged 18 and older, for the world premiere of the musical adaptation of “The Bad News Bears.” There will be a chorus call on June 6 in San Francisco. Rehearsals will begin on Jan. 19, 2027, followed by tech on Feb. 14 and performances on Feb. 26–April 4. Pay is $1,233 per week.

“Exam Week”

Adrienne Stern Casting is seeking actors for “Exam Week,” a feature film following two desperate 8th graders in the middle of a high-stress exam week who recruit a crew of misfits to systematically sabotage and shut down their school, one day at a time, to escape the rest of finals forever. Two young New York City-based male actors, aged 14–15, are sought for lead roles. Filming will take place for approximately 13 days, from July 27 to Aug. 12. Pay is $249 per day plus 10%.

“The Trap House”

The Trap House,” a short film following a drug addict who enters a supernatural trap house that feeds on dependency, is casting nationwide actors, aged 18–38, for lead and supporting roles. Production is also hiring multiple crew roles, including an assistant grip/swing, production assistants, and a script supervisor. Talent will work on July 23–26 in Phoenix, Arizona. Pay is $265 per day plus 10% for up to four days of work for the cast. Crew roles are unpaid. Travel, accommodations, per diem, and pension/health contribution will be provided.
