Now Casting: Play Carl Perkins in an Upcoming Production of ‘Million Dollar Quartet’ + 3 More Gigs

Start your week off right with one of the major gigs available in today’s casting roundup. A production of “Million Dollar Quartet” needs a versatile actor-musician to play the lead role of Carl Perkins this spring. Plus, Edward Norton’s “Motherless Brooklyn” needs Penn Station patrons, Kaleidoscope Dance Theatre is seeking new talent, and “Smosh” is casting new members.

“MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET”
HART Theatre in Waynesville, North Carolina, is seeking a versatile male actor-singer to play the lead role of Carl Perkins in its production of “Million Dollar Quartet.” Talent, aged 18–35, who can play electric guitar proficiently and read music is wanted for the role. Preference will be given to nonunion talent, but the company will consider an Equity Guest contract for someone who has already played the role. Rehearsals begin May 7 with contracts running five weeks through June 10. Pay is $350 per week, with housing and transportation provided. Apply here!

“MOTHERLESS BROOKLYN”
“Motherless Brooklyn,” a 1950’s detective novel adaptation, directed by and starring Edward Norton, is casting background actors, aged 3–89, of all ethnicities to work an interior scene at Penn Station in New York City. Talent will be portraying ticket takers, porters, shoe shiners, janitors, and general station patrons. Period-appropriate hair (or a willingness to get a haircut) is required. Men must be clean-shaven on the day of the shoot. The scene will shoot on April 11 in NYC. Union actors will be paid the SAG Background rate and nonunion actors will be paid $143 for 10 hours of work. Apply here!

KALEIDOSCOPE DANCE THEATRE
Kaleidoscope Dance Theatre is currently seeking world-class dancers, aged 18 and older, with ballet, modern, and urban experience to join the company. Rehearsals take place on dates TBD in NYC, with performances June 22, 23, and dates TBD in Central Park. Pay is $100 per show and $100 total for rehearsals. Apply here!

“SMOSH”
Bold, uninhibited, and funny talent, aged 18–25, is wanted to join the cast of “Smosh” as a performer, personality, and creative contributor. Improvisation or acting experience, plus bilingual ability in Spanish and English, are a plus. Shoot dates are TBD in Los Angeles.
