Now Casting: Play a Renowned Gospel Singer in Feature Film ‘Mustard Seed’ + 3 More Gigs

Calling all bold and brash actors! The upcoming feature film “Mustard Seed,” which follows a gospel singer with a cruel disposition, is looking for an actor to play its lead character, as well as several supporting roles. Plus, a New York City–based web series and a feature about different layers of reality are both casting lead roles, and a documentary is looking for talent to appear in dramatic re-enactment scenes.

Join the upcoming feature film “Mustard Seed,” which follows Annabella, a renowned gospel singer “whose angelic voice stands in stark contrast to the indifferent or vile way she treats those around her” and who, after a dire diagnosis and a threat from her label, must fill a hole in her life. A female actor, aged 30–45, is sought to play the lead role of Annabella. There are also multiple other roles available for supporting actors and day players, aged 25 and older, including Annabella’s husband, Phillip, and her grandmother, Aiyana. Rehearsals and filming will begin in July and August, specific dates TBD, in and around Raleigh, North Carolina. Pay is $100 per day, with meals and housing provided. Apply here!

“Something About the Weather,” a feature-length film about a game of life being played on three separate layers of reality, is now filling lead and supporting roles. A female actor, aged 22–35, is sought to play the lead role of Ash. There are also multiple supporting roles for talent, aged 18–65. Shoot dates are TBD in NYC and in Easton, Pennsylvania. A currently-untitled web series about a guy who invites a girl over to his place to get to know her without realizing she has different intentions is casting its principal talent. A male actor, aged 18–28, is wanted to play the lead role of Brandon, and a female actor, aged 18–26, is wanted to play the role of Ashley. There will be an audition by appointment on April 22 in NYC. The series will shoot on a date currently TBD in NYC. Pay is $75 for a one-day shoot. Apply here!

“Amnesty,” a feature-length documentary about survivors of human rights violations standing up for justice, is seeking talent for dramatic re-enactment sequences. Talent, aged 25–70, is sought to play several featured and supporting roles. Production will take place in late May and early June over one to five days, depending on the role, in Los Angeles.
