Now Casting: Portray 1940s Civilians in Tom Hanks’ ‘Greyhound’ + 3 More Gigs

Kickstart your acting career with a background role in a major feature film; “Greyhound,” written by and starring Tom Hanks, is currently looking for male actors to portray 1940s-era hotel guests. There is also a background role available for a young actor on the upcoming feature “Who We Are,” plus lead and supporting roles in two web series, one about the post-#MeToo era, and one about life in the military.

Background casting continues for the upcoming Sony Pictures feature film “Greyhound,” written by and starring Tom Hanks, that follows the Navy officer that commanded the Greyhound during World War II. Male talent, aged 18 and older, is wanted to portray 1940s hotel guests. All actors must be able to fit into a coat size 38–46. Production will take place on April 21 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. There is a mandatory fitting on one day from April 9–13. Pay is $101.50 for 12 hours of work, plus an additional $25.37 for the two-hour fitting. Apply here!

Casting is underway for “The P Word,” a sketch comedy series that shines a light on gender assumptions through a female lens in a post-#MeToo world. Union and nonunion male talent, aged 20–30, is wanted for several lead and supporting roles in the series. Talent must have good comedic timing and improvisation skills. There is also a supporting role for a female actor, aged 18–25. Production will take place from April 21–23 in NYC. Pay is $150 per day. Apply here!

“Who We Are,” a feature film that focuses on the Senate Intelligence Committee’s report on the CIA’s Detention and Interrogation Program in the post-9/11 era, is casting a young actor for a background role. A male actor, aged 9–10, is wanted to portray the son of a CIA analyst. The film will shoot April from 16–May 18 in NYC. Some pay will be provided. Apply here!

Join the cast of “Barracks Show,” a sketch comedy show that sheds light on day-to-day life living in U.S. military Bachelor Enlisted Quarters. Talent, aged 18–35, is wanted for several supporting and background roles in the series. Several roles have physical requirements, such as needing an overweight or a short actor, and all or most roles require a military-style haircut. “Barracks Show” shoots from April 16–May 11 in Riverside, California.
