In today’s casting roundup, a sexy psychological thriller is casting several roles, including two of its three stars. Plus, a pair of short films and a commercial for a printing service are seeking talent now!

“Surrogate Mother”

Drama Queen Pictures is seeking talent for “Surrogate Mother,” a psychological thriller about a wealthy married couple who try to save their marriage with a child through a surrogate mother who seduces both of them without the other’s knowledge. Three female actors, aged 18–45, are wanted for lead and supporting roles, including the starring roles of Isabella and Mary. Topless nudity will be required for simulated sex scenes (an intimacy coordinator will be on set). There will be auditions by appointment on Sept. 10 in Burbank, California. Talent will work in October in California and other locations TBD. Pay is $2,000–$10,000 for up to four weeks of work.

“Last Summer”

Star-Crossed Studios & Retro Dream Films are currently casting talent for “Last Summer,” a short film set in Summer 1990 that follows a tight-knit group of upcoming high school seniors in a rich Jersey Shore town that takes in an enigmatic girl from the wrong side of the tracks. Actors, aged 18–26, are wanted for lead roles in the film, which will shoot in Summer 2025 in the Central New Jersey area. Pay is $125 per filming day with meals provided.

Online Poster Printing Commercial

Two Los Angeles-based actors, aged 25–45, are wanted for lead talent in a web and TV spot for a new printing service for personalized posters. Talent will work in mid-to-late September. Pay is $400–$1,000.

“Singularity”

Dick Wengle Films is seeking actors for “Singularity,” a short film about a woman who returns to her family’s isolated farm in rural Virginia after the death of her estranged father where she is greeted by her brother Alan, a humanoid robot created by her late dad. Actors, aged 9–70, are wanted for various roles, including the starring roles of Evelyn and Alan. Additionally, production is currently hiring a hair and makeup artist. Rehearsals will take place in Spring 2025, followed by filming in the fall in Ashland, Virginia. Pay is $175–$300 per day for up to seven days of work for acting talent and $1,000–$2,000 for crew. Lodging and food will be provided during production.
