In today’s Backstage listings, we have an awesome theatrical opportunity casting both union and nonunion talent! “For the Record: The Brat Pack,” a musical theater/concert experience using the music of John Hughes movies, will hold an open casting call in New York City. Plus, we’ve got gigs on two network series and a short film.
“FOR THE RECORD: THE BRAT PACK”
The successful “For the Record” stage series is casting for its forthcoming production, “For the Record: The Brat Pack,” which will run on Norwegian Cruise Lines. Union and nonunion talent is sought for six roles in the piece, featuring the music of John Hughes movies. An open casting call will be held in New York City on Jan. 23.
“THE BLACKLIST: REDEMPTION”
The upcoming “Blacklist” spin-off, “The Blacklist: Redemption,” is casting for background roles. The production seeks male and female talent ages 18–55 to portray neighborhood pedestrians. The gig will shoot Jan. 13 in Jericho, New York, and pay $121/10 hours.
“CHICAGO FIRE”
NBC’s hit series “Chicago Fire” is casting a male actor aged 18–49 for the background role of a gunshot victim. Shooting is slated for Jan. 13 in Chicago, Illinois, and will pay $84/eight hours of production.
“PALE ZEBRA”
A lead and three supporting roles are sought for “Pale Zebra,” a short film depicting “a troubled and indifferent young boy who uncovers a new side of himself when he meets his father for the first time.” The piece will shoot the second week of February in San Francisco, California, and will pay $150–$300/day, depending on the role.
