Now Casting: Regional ‘Carousel’ Production and More Paid Gigs

It may officially be December, but June is bustin’ out all over in today’s casting roundup. Both union and nonunion actors are sought for a 2017 regional production of the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic “Carousel,” plus three other fantastic gigs throughout the country. See them all below!

“CAROUSEL”
Musical Theatre West is casting union and nonunion actors for its upcoming production of “Carousel,” including the leading roles of Billy Bigelow and Julie Jordan. The tuner, which first bowed on Broadway in 1945, will hold an open casting call Jan. 4 and 5, 2017 in Long Beach, California with a run slated for Mar. 24–Apr. 9, 2017, also in Long Beach.

“BAD SAMARITAN”
Talent is needed to serve as stand-in/photo doubles on the feature film, “Bad Samaritan.” The flick, starring David Tennant, Robert Sheehan, and Carlito Olivero, will shoot Dec. 5–Jan. 17, 2017 in Portland, Oregon.

“BEINGS WANT TO BE JAGGED”
Casting is underway for “Beings Want to be Jagged,” a short film depicting “an actress suffering from severe depression” and the director who’s the “only person she ever trusted in her whole life.” Male and female talent both ages 18–40 are sought to play the two respective leads. The piece will shoot January 2017 in Dover, New Jersey.

“GIVING HIM WINGS”
“Giving Him Wings,” a comedic short shot mockumentary-style, seeks talent for four supporting roles. The project will shoot Dec. 8 and 9 in New York City, and will pay $150/day.
